Ushers have a special role to play at every parish liturgy. The primary responsibility of ushers is to be of service to everyone in the assembly so that all may celebrate the Sacred Liturgy as the holy people of God who become one in Christ.
The ushers are often the first people encountered by those entering the church, and so a true spirit of welcome is a hallmark of their service. At the same time, ushers are involved in some of the most important elements of a good liturgy, some of which include: escorting people to their seats and helping to find seats when the church is crowded; inviting people to bring the gifts of bread and wine to the celebrant; taking up the collection; helping with the communion procession; distributing Sunday bulletins; and ensuring that the church is in good order after parishioners leave following Mass.
This apostolate is open to anyone, male or female, over the age of fourteen. After individual training, an usher will generally serve in a regular schedule at the Mass of his/her preference. Additional group training is provided once a year in November. Ushers are asked to contact Joyce Ott to personally request to be scheduled for special celebrations such as Confirmation or First Communion.

The Altar Ladies, also known as Handmaids of the Altar, gather every Thursday after the 8:30AM Mass to take the time to ensure that the church is dusted, cleaned, and in order. They are also responsible for changing and cleaning the altar linens.
The Altar Ladies (men are also welcome to participate) are organized into four groups; each week, one group is responsible for cleaning the church. Each member is asked to clean only once a month. This dedicated group has served the parish for many years, and they welcome new volunteers at any time.
